Two Words

Two Words For 2025 Today marks the end and the beginning of another year. For many the thought of a New Year's resolution is fresh on their mind, but for me, not so much. I've just never been into that kind of thing, don't ask me why, I'm just not. I admire people who do make a New Year's resolutions and stick with it. But hey, who wants to tamper with perfection...lol. Of course, being in any type of church leadership, especially a pastor, if you allow it, you can feel the pressure to want to hear from God about the coming year and give a word with regard to that persuasion. Usually, you'll hear something that rhymes with the calendar year, for example "God blesses more in 2024." Once again, I've never felt the necessity of doing that, but maybe it helps people, so I don't disagree I've heard of many Pastors who take time at the end of the year to seek God for a word of encouragement for their people, and that's perfectly fine. But fo...

Simple Pleasures

Simple Pleasures The older I get the more I enjoy life's simple pleasures. Things like a family room full of laughter while you watch toddlers run and play through the house. Things like, watching parents hover around their first born with all the awe and wonder imaginable; their countenance lighting the delivery room as the noon day sun, joyful in what God has given them - something of their likeness, something of their own. Lumbering along a beautiful hiking trail hearing in the distance a cascading waterfall that you’ve never seen before. You're every step hastening as you draw closer and closer to the wonder of what nature has to share. Coffees first sip on a cool wintery day as you slip into a worn flannel that should have been discarded years ago, but there’s just something about the way it feels.  A new pair of socks. Who would have ever thought they could feel so good! The return glance; I think he/she is looking at me - Could this be the one? Wedding bells are...

Christ in Who?

Christ's In who? Not just me - but you. The hope of Glory. There is a glory that belongs to all of creation, that includes every person on the planet - and this glory is what all of creation longs for. Glory just simply means someone’s opinion or view of you, in this instance it’s God’s view of you, which is better than good, it's gold, the highest standard possible. In other words, it’s how God sees us - and this is the correct way that we should see others. I thank God for the revelation of Christ in me; when my heart awakened to this truth that God didn’t live in a distant galaxy somewhere in outer space, but he chose to tabernacle in me, my heart was elated with joy - when I found out that he had arrived and was living in me, I thought I had arrived…lol. However, ‘Christ in Me’ is only part of the story. It’s when I realized that Christ is in you - that's when it all came into focus. Everyone we encounter is a “Christ In You” person, the hope of glory Colossians 1:27....

New Discoveries

Introduction:   I just want to share a few thoughts with you about the goal of this website. It's been many years since I've done any blogging, so I just wanted to get back into the swing of things sharing my thoughts with you from the perspective of an ordinary guy as to what it looks like to walk with God. Yes, I do Pastor a small church and have for about fifteen years. However, I don't have degrees in theology, not that I'm against that, I regret not having pursued degrees of higher learning. But that's just part of my journey that's fitted to me. However, everyone can walk with God, because no one is excluded. We all need help with life's challenges. Life's experiences, now that I can talk about both the good and the bad; I think probably we all can. I guess I'm what is referred to as a lay pastor. I've worked a full-time job all of my life. But like I said, I do have experiences to share about life and what it looks like for someone who is ...
